Upcoming Event: 8th Edition of the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) Collaboration Mission

November 16, 2015 – Seniors officials of 17 post-secondary institutions, from 11 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, will visit Canada from November 16-25, 2015 to develop stronger ties in education.

In this 8th edition of the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) Collaboration Mission, the delegation will visit colleges and universities in St. John’s, Toronto, Waterloo, Guelph and Niagara Falls, and will take part in networking events and educational activities.

The ELAP Collaboration Mission is a key feature of the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP), whose main objective is to support the development of human capital and the next generation of leaders in the Americas while strengthening the linkages between post-secondary institutions in Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.

This year’s delegates are from 11 different countries: Barbados, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Jamaica, Panama and Paraguay.

The delegation will also attend the Canadian Bureau for International Education’s (CBIE) 49th Annual Conference. CBIE is a national bilingual not-for-profit organization that administers many of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development’s (DFATD) International Scholarships Program (ISP) and the organizer of the ELAP Collaboration Missions.
